The Irish Interski Team was founded in the build up to the 2015 Interski Congress in Ushuaia, Argentina by Derek Tate.

Its mission is to support the profession of Irish Snowsports teaching and to represent all Irish snowsports organisations at the Interski Congress which takes place every four years. This includes Snowsports Ireland (the National Governing Body), the Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors (IASI), the Ski Club of Ireland (National Training Centre) and now the Professional Ski Instructors of Europe (PSIE - Ireland).
